This cabinet is made primarily of Douglas Fir and Claro Walnut.  The woods are also known as Oregon Pine and Oregon Walnut – hence the name.  The inside does have a Spanish Cedar shelf and divider.  The cabinet is designed to hold wine and liquor.  The holes in the divider are drilled at 33° so when the neck of a wine bottle is placed through them the cork will remain hydrated during aging.  I also put a slight dome on the top of the project to discourage people from setting their drinks upon the cabinet.  I could have done a flat top and an aggressive waterproof finish, but I thought the harmony of tone and gloss was worth preserving.  The entire piece is hand rubbed with oil.
