This coffee table is made from highly figured Madrone and Eastern Black Walnut.  I am very happy with the fluid shaping of the slightly tipped legs.  I wanted the sweeping curves of the top to seem to float above the base, and for this reason set the rails close to the ground as opposed to under the top.
