I try to avoid waste in my shop as much as  possible.  Often times wood I use is very rare, or maybe no longer available, or possibly just an extremely fine example of a species.  So when I finish a project, I like to take stock of the remnants and try to find uses for them.  I make these laminated barrettes with such pieces.  Each barrette is entirely unique and finished with a catalyzed lacquer for durability (especially in wet Oregon).
